Reality on the Ground: West Bank

East Jerusalem is home to approximately 350,000 Palestinians. Shu’afat, the only recognized refugee camp in East Jerusalem, houses tens of thousands displaced during the Nakba (1948) and Naksa (1967). Recent UNRWA program shutdowns have directly impacted children’s access to education, leaving many without reliable schooling options. Khan Al Ahmar, a predominantly Bedouin community located roughly 10 km from East Jerusalem, is also part of our support network.

Palestinians in these areas face ongoing threats of home demolition, limited work permits, and shrinking educational access due to reductions in UNRWA programming. Thousands have had their residency revoked since 1967, deepening community vulnerability. Primary needs include protection from displacement, access to quality education, and relief from unemployment and poverty.
